Together, they give you everything you need to approach technology intentionally—before the digital world starts shaping your child in ways you never agreed to.

Are you thinking about giving your child a phone, tablet, or gaming system?

Are you bracing for another summer break filled with screen time battles?

Perhaps you're asking yourself:

How do I keep this from becoming a battleground?

How will I stay involved with what my child is seeing and doing online?

How do I help them hold onto the values we’ve taught them when the digital world teaches something completely different?

These questions matter.

After years of working with kids in therapy and in small classes, we’ve seen how the digital world can mold a child’s inner world, often without parents realizing it.

We’ve watched how it can undermine self-worth, diminish their capacity for attention, reward impulsivity, and silently pull children away from the values their families are trying to nurture.

That's why we created this Parent Kit.

Originally developed exclusively for our Polestar Parenting members, we’re making it available more widely for a limited time.

In the same way you would never give your child a car without preparation and guidance.

This Parent Kit gives the information you need to prepare and guide your child, so that they can eventually navigate the digital world on their own.

What you'll learn

You'll walk away with:

  • check A comprehensive, customizable agreement that covers the real situations your child will face online.
  • check Step-by-step instructions for walking through the agreement with your child and tailoring it to your family's values.
  • check Clear language, talk-points, and stories that help children understand how technology affects their brain, emotions, and daily choices.
  • check Developmentally grounded guidance for a slow, intentional rollout that protects your child as they learn to use technology wisely.
  • check A simple framework for educating your child about the digital world, helping them develop awareness, self-control, and the ability to manage technology in a way that reflects your family's values.

This is not about controlling kids. It's about supporting their growth, protecting their developing brain, and giving them the education they need to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.

Our Polestar Parenting Family Tech Agreement goes beyond rules and limits.

Most tech agreements fall short because they don’t explain why any of this matters, leaving kids frustrated and parents stuck in arguments.

Ours takes a different approach. It walks families through how technology shapes the developing brain, how time online can erode core values, and why thoughtful habits matter.

When kids understand what’s at stake, they’re far more willing to work with you. This agreement gives families a clear framework for talking about values and clarifying what matters most.

Our goal is simple: to help children grow into grounded, self-aware young people who can use technology wisely rather than be shaped by it.

This kit is for parents of pre-teens and teens and is a good fit if you:
